  • Explain what is a server.
  • Give the purpose of each of the identified server.
Server 

Server is a computer device or computer program which provides a service for another computer user or clients. The purpose of the server is for managing and sharing resources from one client to another client.

Application Server

Application server is a server that is used for installing, operating and hosting the software and it connects the services for the computer user, IT services and also organizations.




Proxy Server

Proxy server will acts as the intermediary server between the users and the Internet. It is used for monitoring and filtering the network.


Blade Server

Blade server is a server that is used for managing and distributing the data and information in a set of computers and networks.
Hardware
Just to add more servers

Mail Server

Mail server is used to saved and managed Email in the mail server storage capacity.


Virtual Server

Virtual server is used for web hosting environments where it provides a faster resource control which shares the hardware and software resources with other computer system.
is a software you can install from another computer.

File Server

File server is used to save, delete and manage the files such as documents, images, audios and videos in the computer.
Act as a backup



Policy Server

Policy server will act as the security server which is used for identifying, tracking and managing the files on the computer system and network.
Is a server that have a rules of the network.
(permission / the user permitted to access the network) - on which files or the information can be accessed by the user.


Web Server

 Web server is used to host website files and deliver the files through the web server.
